I am one of those people who eagerly awaited (rather impatiently) Liz Curtis Higgs' most recent Historical novel: Here Burns My Candle. Set in Edinburgh Scotland, 1745, the romantic tale follows the Bible story of Ruth and Naomi.
I would highly recommend this book as it is an important reminder about the value of relationships in our lives, taking the reader beyond the love between a husband and a wife and into the bonds between family. It is a beautiful tale filled with the rich detail of Scotland and bustling Edinburgh.
Following in the path of Liz's previous Scottish Fiction, Here Burns My Candle is well worth the read!

Well, I probably will read it anyway. It is a Liz Higgs novel--and she's one of my favorite writers. But, please, no more spoilers!
Bless you, dear Joanne, for reading my novel, for writing such a thorough analysis, for offering such encouraging words, and then for kindly editing your blog review, so readers can discover all those story twists for themselves! I'm hard at work on Mine Is the Night for you, releasing March 15,2011.
My sincere apologies. I edited it as soon as I realized. I had no intention of being inconsiderate or thoughtless.
